Improving Above-Ground Storage Tank Regulations
On March 30, 2004, the Center submitted public comments ( 31.95 Kb) to strengthen
Delaware's proposed above ground storage tank regulations. These comments
point out that the regulations allow companies to hide more information
from the public than required by statute and contain no requirements
to protect storage tanks from sabotage or intentional tampering.
Because of our comments, changes were made to ensure that AST reports
are subject to
Delaware's Freedom of Information Act. The final Regulations Governing
Aboveground
Storage Tanks become effective June 11, 2004.
